    NMEDA Members Donate Converted Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles

    May is National Mobility Awareness Month. In hopes of raising awareness and showing the world that there are mobility solutions available to seniors and people with disabilities, six members of National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) have teamed to donate three vehicles and conversions to three Local Heroes: Toyota, Chrysler, SanTan Honda Superstore, Braun Corporation, Vantage Mobility International (VMI) and Bruno Independent Living Aids.     That fresh new car smell is in the air as Spring ushers in auto shows all over the world, and Canada is no exception. The 2012 Canadian International Auto Show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s two buildings opened Feb. 17 and runs through Feb. 26.

    Both are filled with manufacturers exhibiting shiny new cars and the latest equipment—some aimed at those with mobility challenges.
