Comprehensive Automotive Mobility Solutions Course for Health Professionals (CAMS-HP)

This continuing education course contains a range of topics pertaining to personal automotive mobility solutions. It will assist the allied health care practitioner in understanding and advocating for individuals seeking automotive vehicle modification solutions, while also teaching practitioners about the unique process involved in evaluating, selecting and purchasing appropriate automotive options.

This course qualifies the attendee for .7 AOTA CEU, .7 ADED CEU, .7 AKTA CEU, .7 CCMC CEU and .6 RESNA (by request only).

Colleen Knoll is currently a member of the Colorado Chapter of ADED, Colleen Knoll, OTR/CDRS, is an Occupational Therapist with over 25 years of experience working with a multitude of diagnoses (SCI, TBI, other neuro diagnoses, and orthopedic injuries), as they relate to rehabilitation, adaptive transportation/driving, aging, seating and positioning, and adaptive equipment needs. At present, her position involves assisting with training and management of the Adaptive Transportation Department at Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO.  As a CDRS, Colleen works with clients, family members/friends and various equipment providers (both installers and manufacturers) for evaluation, training, education, and equipment fitting for safe and dependent passenger transport or return to independent driving status.

Over the years, Colleen has worked in a variety of treatment settings, including acute care, rehabilitation, outpatient and long term/home health. For two years she served as the Clinical Educator for the Invacare Corporation, teaching about AE and its applications. On a volunteer basis, she has taught adapted skiing for fifteen years with the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) in Winter Park, CO. In 2005, Colleen received her license as a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT), after completing the 15 month training program.

Colleen is pleased to be a member of the Chrysler “Minivan Platform” Advisory Board, which explores options for improving the minivan platform for persons requiring mobility solutions.

Cancellation Policy:

Activity Cancellation by the Provider
The Provider (NMEDA) reserves the right to cancel the course due to unforeseen/unavoidable circumstances at any time. Any tuition fees will be refunded in full. However, NMEDA will not be responsible for nonrefundable airline and hotel reservations that a participant incurred due to cancellation of the course. NMEDA reserves the right to change a course date, location or instructor.

With this in mind, we recommend that you include a cancellation clause when booking your flight or hotel reservations, or refrain from making the reservations until 1 week prior to the scheduled training.

No refunds or transfers will be issued for course cancellations made by the attendee unless sufficient written notice is given.
