Free Access to State Parks in the United States
Did you know you can obtain a free access pass to many US national parks? Call ahead to confirm but typically you would need to provide documentation of your disability. Documentation may include a statement by your licensed physician, a document issued by a Federal agency, Social Security Disability Income or Supplemental Security Income receipts, or a document issued by a State agency relative to your disability and benefits.
The Free Access Pass is only intended for use by citizens or permanent residents of the United States, who have been medically determined to have a permanent disability that severely limits major life activities for state park access only (as opposed to Federal Recreation sites). A day pass is good for the pass holder plus 3 adult entrants and sometimes includes a discount on the concessions.
